Afternoon Tea FAQs

    1. Premier Tea Selection: Choose from over 45+ organic premium tea blends, including black, green, herbal, matcha, oolong, and fruit teas. Choose 3 flavors for the table!

    2. Savory Treats: Finger sandwiches are a staple, including cucumber, chicken salad, and pimento cheese. They are typically crustless and cut into fun shapes. Expect a “good-sized” portion for each sandwich.

    3. Scones: Freshly baked scones served warm, accompanied by clotted cream, jam and lemon curd. With multiple flavors like lemon poppyseed, blueberry, white chocolate raspberry, it’s sure to become your favorite!

    4. Sweet Treats: A selection of pastries, cakes, and cookies adds a sweet touch. These can range from mini cupcakes to brownie bites and crafty creations from our chef.

    5. Atmosphere & Dress: Afternoon tea is often served in a relaxing setting, making it a perfect occasion for socializing, celebrating special moments, or simply enjoying a quiet break. Come as you are or dress to the “nines”! Enjoying one of our SpecialTeas? Dress for the season or occasion!

    Overall, afternoon tea is more than just a meal; it's an experience that encourages connection, conversation, and indulgence in delightful flavors.

    SpecialTEAs: A seasonal tea service creatively curated to be festive and fun, from spooky Halloween “Trick or Tea”, to Christmas, and Valentine’s. Dress up for the occasion and celebrate!

    Tipsy Tea Upgrade: Amplify your celebration with the addition of bottomless mimosas, wine, prosecco, or cava

    This upgrade is only available for the Afternoon Tea experience. Schedule at time of booking, call ahead before your tea, or let your server know once you get here!

  • Children 2yrs and up:

    Children are welcome at Afternoon Tea!

    Children 2yrs old and older will be charged the same as adults. If needed, we are happy to accommodate their young palates, upon request, with custom sandwiches such as PB&J, Ham and Cheese, Turkey and Cheese, or even a good ole "plain buttered bread" for our picky eaters.

    We treat every guest that joins us for a proper Afternoon Tea with the same high-quality service and respect... no matter their age.

    When in doubt, they may order a-la-carte off of our lunch menu.

    Children 2yrs and under:

    Children under 2 yrs are not charged for. Please include them in your reservation number though!

    We do not have any high chairs nor booster seats; you are welcome to bring your own from home!

    Please note our tables have glass tops and therefor not suitable for seats that attach to the table itself.

  • Dietary Needs:

    • If your guests have food allergies and/or dietary restrictions, please let us know when making your reservation.

      Please note that we can NOT make an afternoon tea with the following restrictions:

    • Gluten AND Dairy free (for the same person)

    • Vegan

    The menu is prepared the day of your reservation before your arrival to ensure you can enjoy the freshest selections as soon as your reservation begins.

    We can accommodate common allergies, including nut, gluten & dairy sensitivities and allergies, and we offer a vegetarian option. Dietary requests must be made at least 24 hours in advance, as we cannot guarantee changes on the day of your reservation.

    We are a shellfish-free establishment!

  • Reservation Duration and Seating:

    • Parties are given a 1.5 hour window to enjoy the delicious foods, service, and wonderful company from the scheduled start time of your reservation.

      Tea orders will be taken and food will start to be served promptly after the scheduled reservation time, regardless of whether the entire party is seated or not, in order to give your party sufficient time to enjoy the experience. 

      Please be aware that reservations may be booked behind you! We will kindly remind you of your time if it approaches the 1.5 hour window to allow time to set up for other guests.

    • If there is not a reservation immediately following yours, we are happy to allow more time at the table to converse and celebrate. However, the 1.5 hour time limit applies to the bottomless teas and wine. After that point, we will not offer any further refills.

  • RESERVATIONS:

    • Reservations are REQUIRED to participate in any tea service. Same-day requests can not be guaranteed.

    CREDIT CARDS:

    • A credit card is required to make a reservation for any tea service. Credit cards are not charged and no deposit it taken at the time of your reservation booking.

      The card on file will be charged ONLY in the event your party does not show up at the requested reservation time, or you cancel after 10 AM the day of your reservation. (After 11am for Sunday reservations).

      If unable to make it and you have reached the cutoff time, you may change your Afternoon Tea from in-store dining to an Afternoon Tea To-Go at no additional charge.

      Your food must be picked up the same day.

      The card will be charged the amount of the original reservation (Per person charge plus tax) upon cancelation after the cutoff. If you have any questions regarding this policy, please call the tea room.

    • Gift Cards can be used to pay for an Afternoon tea however we still require a credit card upon booking

    Afternoon Tea 20% Gratuity Policy:

    • An automatic gratuity of 20% is applied to all afternoon tea reservations at the time of check out. To maintain the exceptional standard of service that we pride ourselves on, we have implemented a 20% automatic gratuity for all afternoon teas. This gratuity is a reflection of the dedication and hard work of our staff, who go above and beyond to curate a memorable experience for each guest.

      Gratuity is shared with our kitchen staff who work extra hard in prepping and preparing Afternoon Teas in advance of your arrival.

      We appreciate your understanding and support of this policy, as it enables us to continue delivering the exceptional hospitality that defines our tea room experience.

    Outside Foods:  

    • No outside foods are allowed with the exception of dessert items. Outside desserts must be prepared by a commercial kitchen to comply with Bellaire Health Code.

      We will charge a $25 “cake service” fee if you wish for us plate and distribute your outside dessert to your guests. We do NOT provide additional plates, silverware, nor boxes for outside desserts without this fee.

    • Our talented staff would be happy to make a cake or delicious party favor for you if your reservation is made with ample time for the chef to prepare your request. Additional charges will apply for this and can be discussed at the time of the booking. House-made desserts do not incur the “cake service” fee.  

      Thank you for allowing us to serve you!

  • Cancellation Policy:  

    • The final bill will be based on the last confirmed guest count via the hostess as of 10:00am on the date of your reservation. (11am for Sundays)

      Changes can be made by calling us at 713-218-6300 with the date of the party, the name on the reservation, and the phone number attached

    • The menu preparation begins days in advance and requires that we bring in extra staff and food, so the cancellation policy is strictly enforced.

      If your reservation is not cancelled in accordance with our policy you will be charged the full amount of the bill based on your headcount that we have on file as of that point.

    • We understand life happens. Should members of your party not make it to the tea room, and you were unable to change your reservation numbers, we will box up their food for you to take home.

    *Please note that we are not able to check email and voicemails during our busy service day.

    Cancellations via voicemail are not guaranteed.

    Reservation requests or changes via email are not secure until a member of our staff has responded.

    Confirmation and cancelation texts come from an unmonitored line that cannot receive phone calls. To speak with a staff member please call 713-218-6300.

  • Monday, Wednesday - Saturday: 11 AM- 3:30 PM

    Sundays: 11:30 AM- 2:30 PM

    CLOSED TUESDAYS

    The last seating time still allows for a 1.5 hr tea experience before we close!

    Reservations must be made by IN ADVANCE and confirmed with a credit card number.

  • We offer a 3.8% discount if you choose to pay via cash or check. This discount will be applied upon payment with the above forms of payment.

  • Afternoon Tea reservations can be combined with regular lunch reservations if we have advance notice.

    We require more than 50% of the total number of guests participate to in the tea service. (Kids 2yrs and under not counted for this purpose)

    Those not participating are allowed to order off of the lunch menu and will be charged an additional $8 bottomless tea charge since they will be partaking in the tea we serve at your table.

    Are they not drinking the tea? Let us know! The fee will not be applied.

    20% automatic gratuity will be applied to their separate bill as well.
